5) Ein Gedi wildlife and environmentalism

Desert Lynx, a carnivore of the cat family. It is distinguishable by its black-tufted ears and short tail. Weighs 11-14 kegs. and is common in Africa and the Middle East as far as northern India.
It looks like my dog's long lost cousin.
These beautiful creatures make me miss Louis.

Ibex are the uncrowned kings of the cliffs. Their agility in strolling along ledges and skipping from rock to rock is amazing. The males are recognised by their beards and long back-curving horns.

              Rock Hyrax

Many varieties of cacti grow here.

Stones are a big feature of the architecture and landscaping throughout Israel.

Views from the walking path encircling the Ein Gedi Natural Creation resort.

You walk a path past the houses through a botanical garden with many species identified.
Here's an Australian one!

The accommodation at Ein Gedi is in keeping with the environment - in desert colours and in a minimalist style.
