38) Books and music I bought in Prague

These stories are set in all the sites I saw in the Jewish Quarter, called Josefov.

Some Czech jazz; music written in Terezin and music by a female Czech composer. I sought out music written by a woman and came across the concept art CD and the jazz quartet while browsing. All to be discovered.

At Prague Castle in Golden Lane        Franz Kafka rented a tiny house from his sister so he could concentrate on his writing.

Golden Lane was named after the goldsmiths who lived here in the 1600s. This short, narrow street is one of Prague's most picturesque. Tiny, bright painted houses, built into the Castle walls, date from the late 1500s.*
Here at no 22 Golden Lane, now a book shop, I bought a copy of Kafka's A Country Doctor short stories. I posted this and the other books (below) at the post office located on the Prague Castle grounds. They'll arrive home in a month.
